I guess I thought the bracelet would be a little more sturdy and not as bendy/flexible. But I guess it makes sense to wrap it around your wrist so it can adjust to any wrist size. I don't know if I expected the bracelet to be a bit heavier but it's fairly light. I like it. Received a few great compliments on how nice it looks. My main complaint would be I didn't like how it snagged my sweaters if I wore it with one. But I do like how light it is on my wrist when my clothes aren't in the way because it almost feels like there is nothing there while still being beautifully accessorized. Bought the second one as a gift and had no complaints.
